What a wonderful start to the year. All these kids (and teachers) are getting used to all the new classrooms, rules, procedures and best of all, all the new faces. These kids are doing great!
Today your child brought home a “Monday Folder.” Inside your will find:
- STAR reading log- color in a star for every ten minutes they read at home. You can read to them, they can read to you. They also learned how to “read the pictures” today. This is a great pre-reading exercise.
- Sight Words- keep this at home and start practicing.
- 3. Signature page- sign and keep it in the folder.
This week we will continue to get to know each other and our classroom rules, procedures, and supplies. Not a lot of academics will happen this week, but we are laying amazing groundwork to build on. This week we hope to get started on ST math. A great program that kids can access at home. Students new to our school will have to complete a few lessons in class before they will be able to log in at home. There is a rumor that Jiji the penguin might come and visit our school!!!
This week we also get to start our specialty classes!!! Music/American Sign Language (Mon, Wed), Art (Thursday), and Library (Friday).
