Wow! It is a new year. That is so exciting and also so exciting to see how these first graders are growing. I am excited to see them again and start some amazing new adventures.
First, we will start our study on animals and their superpowers (adaptations that help them thrive in their environment). For example, beavers have special teeth to cut down trees. Our first at home, family project will wrap up this unit. The projects will be on display at Open House on February 20th. Mark your calendars! More details on the project will be sent home next week.
Second, we will also begin learning about needs vs. wants and how each family meets its needs in different ways and how families in the past have meet their needs for food, shelter, etc.
Great News! Our school is recognized as a Distinguished School for the 2nd time. This is a really big deal. So proud of our school. Check out the link. https://www.cde.ca.gov/nr/ne/yr19/yr19rel85.asp
