In math we continue to work with addition math facts up to 20. Find ways to practice these at home too.
Super Power of the week is: Cleanliness. This week we will talk about the importance of keeping things clean and tidy. Hand washing will be our first lesson. After that we will also be cleaning out our desks and talking about areas of the classroom it keep tidy and why. If feels so good to know where everything is and have it nice and tidy.
This week in Daily 5 the students are so excited. They have read over 16 minutes of stamina and have set a goal to read independently for 20 minutes of stamina. If they reach this goal we will have a stuffed animal party!
In Zoo Phonics we are continuing with the bossy "e" (or magic e it is sometimes called) This week we will work with _o_e, as in joke , _ i _e as in bike and _u_e huge.
Science Friday- Last week we learned about animals and how baby animals look like their parents. We also learned some of the things babies and parents do to keep the babies safe. For example, baby monkies stay with the mom for 7 or 8 years. Baby giraffe can walk with in an hour of birth.
Keep working on the science project at home. Let me know if you need some ideas.
Homework- read for 20 minutes a night and I have included 2 math pages as required homework. For this reason I did not include a menu. As the math concepts get more complicated it is so beneficial to complete these math homework pages. If you have any questions or confusion please email me.
