Read Across America week was such a fun week. We opened morning assembly with a minute to win it game, an author bio, and guest readers. On Friday we wrapped it up by rotating to each classroom (k-3) and doing an activity.
The Auction was a wonderful and fun event. Thank you to everyone who attended. Nichole Maletic and the PAC did a great job running the event. And did you know we have such a talented band!
Writing- The week we will write our first research paper! We will use the topic of St. Patrick's Day. We will read several books, make a graphic organizer, an outline, write a paragraph with 4-5 sentences and a final draft. All will lots of guiding assistance. They are growing up so fast!
Homework-Don’t forget to use complete sentences and to write about what happened in the book. Also, don’t forget to check it over with them and sign it.
Superpower of the week: Virtue of Service, round 2. How can we serve others, how can we serve our community? Seriously, let's think of ideas that we can do as a class.
More big changes this week: You might noticed there were no math pages in the folders this week. The kids are now responsible for keeping them in their big math books. We will rip them out once a week and send them home in the next folder. Such a big 2nd grade skill!
