Yay, the pumpkin patch field trip was a wonderful success! Thank you to all the drivers that made this trip possible.
Ticket Store, We will try and open the store next Friday depending on if we have enough prizes to set out.
In Math we are continuing our number sense unit. We are adding, counting . At home they can be working on adding math facts with in 20. For example,
Super Power of the week, Respect- an attitude of caring for others and treating them with dignity. Speaking and acting with courtesy.
In Zoo Phonics we had been learning about consonant, vowel, consonant (cvc) patterns. This week we will be making a switch to learning about blends. For example the "bl" and "nd" in the word bland. This week we will focus on the "bl" blend, but they will also see the "nd, st, nt" blends.
Science Fridays- We are finishing up our science unit and switching to Social Science where we will begin transitioning from observing the sun, stars and telling time to map making, oceans and continents, immigration, where our food comes from and how early explorers and other cultures used the sun and star to tell time. Wow, that is a lot, but trust me it all fits together so beautifully. Our Culmination will be a Thanksgiving feast with stone soup.
Homework- Read 80 minutes a week (20 min a day). Field trip rubric and writing on the back. The more sentences they write the more stars they will get. Our goal is to always us capitals and periods.
Have a great week!
