Field trip on Thursday! Way to go 1st grade families... We have 10 parents ready to drive kids! This is the most I have ever had. It will be so fun to have some many parents with us. We will leave right after morning assembly and be back in time for lunch. All kids need to wear long pants, achieve shirt, and closed toe shoes that might get muddy. Please drop off your child's car seat along the fence in the morning. You can pick it up at the same spot in the afternoon.
Field Trip Drivers -Your instructions are in your Monday folder.
There is a special pumpkin patch homework assignment this week. Go over the field trip expectations with your 1st grader at home. Then, fill out the behavior rubric after the field trip and return it on Friday.
November/December classroom help sign ups. Also check it out to sign up for the ticket store on October 31st.

Last week we learned that good scientists use “observation.” We observed how the sun changes with the seasons. It rises later in the winter and earlier in the summer. We are tracking, on our calendar, every morning what time the sun rises each day.
Super power of the week: the virtue of Tack- the ability to say something with hour hurting their feelings.
Math:We are finishing up chapter 2 this week and will begin chapter 3 with adding a subtracting up to 20. This is a big 1st grade standard and we will continue practicing all year long to become faster and faster.
ST MATH-We are approaching 30% in the year. Check in with your 1st grader. If they are not nearing 20% yet start working on it and emphasizing it at home.
Reading- last week you may have noticed some paper copied, decodable books coming home nightly. These should be coming home regularly now and they are great to keep at home and practice.
Sight Words for the week: is, she, where, came, love
Phonics Sound for the week:
“Ub”- cub, tub, sub, rub, hub, dub
“Ug”- tug, rug, mug, pug, dug, bug
