This week we are starting our “Need vs. Wants” social studies unit. This is one of my favorite times in first grade. They start to priorities what they “need” and what they “want.”
Friday- We will dress up as if we are 100 years old to celebrate the 100th day of school.
Reading-Register and start logging reading minutes with Six Flags. We have started at home in my house and it is so easy. I was able to do it on my phone. Star reading at home can also count for reading for Six Flags.
Superpower of the week: virtue of curiosity
Sight Words for the week: ride, please, pretty, saw, say
Phonics Sound for the week: double consonants, as in add, spill, boss, grass, less, mess, moss, pass
Classroom sign ups for January https://signup.com/go/dLzMUNH
We are using this book series in class to get ideas for our inventions. Remember, we are not dress up as these animals. We are using these unique attributes to inspire inventions that will be useful to people.
