As the students have probably told you by now, the class had a sub today. I spent the day at the district office finishing the last training in a series on becoming a trauma responsive school. This basically means building a school and staff to be responsive to students and families who have been through traumatic situations. I am very excited about our school and the amazing staff it has. Every time I meet with other schools I am always so impressed with our school.
I was greeted with some of the best little 1st grade hugs as I returned to campus this afternoon. These little face always brighten my day.
Red Wagon is going to provide our class with a wonderful craft activity. The supplies for this project will cost $5 and I sent home an envelope today to send back to class.

Super power of the week: the virtue of Love.
ST MATH- Students should be around 20%-30%
Sight Words for the week:nice, help, should, we’re, around.
Phonics Sound for the week: “ch” is a big deal this week. This is our first digraph, this mean that when c and h come together they make a completely new sound. As in cheese, change, choo choo train. I will give a blue ticket for every 10 “ch” words they write on their star homework page.
